I was not asked for a credit card to activate my Norton 360 subscription

Hello.

I have a question: last year, when I updated Norton Security, I was asked for my credit card data, so that the product could be activated. I don't have a credit card, so I used a virtual one, a service provided by my bank. Then, after the activation, I cancelled the automatic subscription.

Today, I was installing Norton 360, to substitute the obsolete Norton Security, and I was not asked for my credit card to activate the product. For me it is fine and I prefer it this way. I just want to know if this is normal and everything is fine with the subscription: aparently yes, because on the Norton 360's main window there is the information that there are 366 days remaining.

Can someone clarify this situation for me, please? Thanks.

Yes, during the purchase, the store employee tell me to wait because she was going to do something. I didn't understand what is was then, but I now think she probably activated the license.

In US...store scans box barcode to allow license to be activated due to shoplifting concerns.  
Maybe, store also activates license.  
If store activates license.  I guess clock starts with in-store activation. 
Maybe, you can ask store what happens in-store. 
1) Barcode scanned to allow activation?
2) Barcodes scanned to allow and activate license?

Maybe, license activated in-store?

Norton subscriptions are recurring term subscriptions.  Norton subscription requires user account and user payment method for recurring subscription service.  Virus Protection Promise requires user activate automatic renewal.

At the end of Your Service Period, the Service will be renewed and Your payment method will be charged the then-current renewal price (plus applicable taxes) automatically, without any additional action by You.
