IAStorIconLaunch.exe - Application error (N360 install in Win8 64bit)

I had a fresh new install of Windows 8 Pro 64bit, with Windows updates installed, and I then installed Norton 360 that I just bought. No other software, no printer drivers or anything - only the drivers from motherboard manufacturers page.

After installing N360 when I made the first reboot, I got a box (translated from Finnish, but something like this):

"

IAStorIconLaunch.exe - Application error

Application couldn't be started correctly (0xc0000361). Close the application by selecting OK.

"

After the next reboot, I got no error messages.

Only after this I connected the ethernet and entered my license key.

But does N360 have a conflict with Intel Rapid Storage drivers/programs?

Does my Win8 now have a limited functioning of IRST?

How could I test if something isn't right now?

Ideas/explanations/solutions/fixes?

(I'm new to Norton products, but I'm prolly able to check whatever is needed if you need more info)

My motherboard is Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H with BIOS updated to the last one without secure boot, aka F18.

Legacy BIOS mode used (no UEFI), ACHI used (no RAID).

IRST 11.6 and Hotfix 1.0.0.1 for that used. Drivers taken from Gigabyte support pages. No Marvell drivers installed (for extra USB ports).

Display adapter is onboard Intel HD4000, and drivers used the newest one from Gigabyte pages - version 15.28.4.2843.

Thanks!

Any ideas?

Is this one of these new Windows 8 related issues?

More importantly: should I be worried of

a) compromised security

b) reduced functionality of Intel Rapid Storage

If you are not getting any more warning / error messages during startup, then your IRS is working and loading properly.  (You may want to check the system logs via Event Viewer however just to be sure.)

If N360 is showing 'green checks' (no warnings and Protected showing on the main interface) then it is working properly also.
