ID Safe interferes with Dropbox PopUp Menu

Identity Safe for Android Version 3.7.1.777 interferes with the popup menus in my Dropbox for Android app when the autofill function is enabled in the Android Accessibility options screen. This setting is to allow ID Safe to autofill logins for Android apps as well as for websites.

When it is enabled, and I am in my Dropbox app if I tap the menu button at the end of a filename the popup menu pops up and drops away leaving the screen shaded.  If I drag the menu back up, as soon as I release it to make a selection the menu goes away completely.  If I disable the autofill option in Accessibility, I can use the Dropbox app regularly.  However, that makes the ID Safe app next to useless as the only way I can use it to log into Apps is to go into the ID Safe app and copy the password to the clipboard and then paste it into the password field of the app I want to use, a significant inconvenience.

Unfortunately, I use the Dropbox app many times a day and often use the popup menu.  Usually to place a backup copy of the file onto my device but also many times to copy, move or delete a file since that menu has a great many useful options.

If anyone knows of a workaround for this problem or has encountered it as well with Dropbox or any other app, I would appreciate any ideas on getting past this impasse.  So far I have not discovered any other apps with a similar problem with ID Safe.  That being said I quickly found the problem with Dropbox and turned the offending option off so I didn't have much of a chance to see if it interfered with any others in a similar manner.

Sorry about the delay to this, I thought that I could reply by replying to the email notification and I have been getting notifications from Gmail that it has been trying to deliver it but cannot connect.  Duh, I did not notice the "no-reply" in the email address.  In any case here is the reply I sent at that time.

Yes, I can confirm that I have V 3.7.1.777 of ID Safe and I used the method you outlined to send an error report using the Debug Log feature including a full narrative of my problem.

Thank you again for you efforts in this matter

On a related matter on my Note 3 with the autofill option enabled it does the same thing in that it immediately drops the popup menu to the bottom of the screen but on that device when I slide it back up it remains in place and I can make selections from it.  So the RCA is reacting similarly except that when I slide the menu back up and lift my finger or stylus the menu disappears completely.

Can you verify you have the latest version of ID Safe?   v 3.7.1.777

And I just found another new feature you can use to report the issue to Norton. Open ID Safe and log in. Then go to Settings - Help. There is a section for Logging. Turn on the Enable Debug Log. Now try to duplicate the issue with the Drop box . Then go back to the ID Safe settings and tap on Send Error Report by the Debug Log switch. Near the top of the email there is a section for your comments and explanation of the issue. This may help when Norton replies.

Remember to turn the debug log off again.

No, I just got this tablet and have not rooted it, at least not yet.  As i stated in my last post "When I set up my RCA tablet and added my Google account it asked if I wanted to restore the apps from my previous tablet (a Dell Venue 8 3830) and I said yes.  Since I had ID Safe on that tablet it installed it onto this one."

One of the functions of the Google account is that you can backup and restore your apps, settings, contacts etc.  through that account.  As long as I use the same account if I am setting up a similar device, in this case, a tablet, it looked at my devices and found a similar one (the Dell Venue 8) and offered to restore the information from that device onto this one.

Thus the app came from the Google Play store, just not as an individual installation but rather as a group installation of apps from my previous tablet to the RCA, if and only if they were compatible with the RCA.  Several apps that I had on my Dell did not get installed onto the RCA because they were not compatible with it for whatever reason though I suspect it is because of the proprietary machinations the RCA people have done with the Lollipop software.

Oh, I understand and while I would like to be able to resolve this issue it is not "mission critical" so to speak, just an annoyance.  Thank you for all your interest and help to this point and I patiently await the next step in this saga.

If you did not install directly from the Google Play Store, where did you get it?

Have you rooted your tablet?

I have asked for help, but even I have to be patient sometimes. I'll let you know if I hear anything.

I checked out the Google Docs typing issue with the keyboard detached and using the onscreen Google keyboard and di not encounter any problems at all with that.

I also did not have any problems getting ID Safe onto my RCA tablet although I should point out that I did not install it directly from the Play Store.  When I set up my RCA tablet and added my Google account it asked if I wanted to restore the apps from my previous tablet (a Dell Venue 8 3830) and I said yes.  Since I had ID Safe on that tablet it installed it onto this one.  There were a number of apps that were on the Dell tablet that did not get installed onto the RCA however because they were not compatible with it so I believe that if the RCA were incompatible Google would not have installed it.

I am having no other problems with ID Save (of which I am aware, at least) other than the interference with the Dropbox file/folder popup menus.

Can you try detaching the keyboard to see if you see the same problem as the Google Docs issue? That can help with diagnosing the problem.

Although not the same issues you are seeing, there were some issues with an RCA tablet . See here.

I'll ask for help again with your issue.

I do not have the Google Docs problem as my tablet came with a detachable keyboard which I use when composing documents. I am unable to give a screenshot as the menu pops up and quickly slides to the bottom of the screen.  But then when I slide it back up (as I can do on my Note 3) it just disappears making this menu unavailable as long as the autofill option for iD Save is enabled in the Accessibility menu.  My phone is a Samsung N900A Note 3 running Android 5.0 and it works very well.

The problem is with my RCA 10 Viking Pro tablet also running Android 5.0 (Lollipop).  It is a 10inch tablet with 32gb storage, 1gb Ram and a 1.4ghz quad core processor. Model RCT6303W87DK.

Not sure if is is the same kind of issue as the user saw here.  https://community.norton.com/en/forums/norton-identity-safe-service-notification-while-using-google-docs-interferes-ability-use

Can you post a screenshot of what you are seeing?

What device are you using, and what Android version?
