I'm a new user to Norton Identity Safe and most of my usage is with other solutions including Steganos Password Manager. So far so good in my testing, but one major feature is lacking that I use extensively on my Steganos Password Manager- a text field in the login entry. This is extremely useful and usually necessary to store additional information such as unique account info and security questions. Currently, the only text option appears to be the Note function, which requires creating and opening a separate item along with the Login. Thus, I'd have to find and open two items for one website. Combining a text field into the Login entries would definitely increase functionality. I have text entries stored in most of my Steganos list, and I'd be unable to transfer everything over to Identity Safe.
I've seen this request noted in several previous entries- is this being considered as an option?
Thank you,
Thanks, hopefully they can sort it out, and also add the text field feature to the Login entries in the IDS main even if the toolbars have issues.
Ahh but that is the issue, Chrome. My apologies. I also have installed version 66.0.3359.181, although I'm not an avid user of Chrome. The current extension in Chrome does not offer a fill assistant at the present time. Form filling is the best that its offering in its present form which is what you are seeing. The latest discussion on the current extension can be found here.
Cheers
Thank you for the note. I've been over the referenced help page multiple times line by line and I can't find or access the Fill Assistant as described; I suspect that the recent IDS version upgrade and interface change may have moved things around a bit since the Help Page was written. Could you please double check with the latest versions installed and see if this is the case, or would you have any relevant screenshots/image snips? I'm running Win10Pro/Chrome Version 66.0.3359.181 (Official Build) (64-bit), all Win/Norton/third party software is fully patched and updated.
(From the help page) "You need to have Norton toolbar enabled on your browsers to use Fill Assistant. To open Fill Assistant, on the Norton toolbar, click VAULT IS OPEN, and then click the Open Fill Assistant icon at the bottom of the pop-up." - I have the latest Norton IDS Toolbar and Safe Search Toolbar installed; no mentions ref the Fill Assistant that I could find in any of the web based or Norton interfaces.
"If the fields in an online form are not filled, Identity Safe displays the Open Fill Assistant Infobar." I tried one website that had follow on authentication questions; and the Vault was open; no fill assistant was displayed.
Thanks,
Hello RGS. Have you taken a look at the fill assistant when setting up your IDS? https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/v91953036_ns_retail_en_us
