Identity Safe data

:smileysurprised:Can anyone tell me where the Identity Safe data is stored on the PC (which folder)?  I know that, when it's backed up it creates a*.npm file, but so far I've only found my backup - no the original.  More importantly, is it possible to change the location of this file (to a different virtual drive) so that automatic backup can take place.

Thank you.

Hi,

Identity safe data backup will be available under the program data directory.

Check here : %programdata%\Norton\{0C55....}\NIS 19.x.x.x\IdentitySafeDataStore\S-1-....(some folder name here)

In this location just look for IDDStore & IDDStore_bak; this will be the product backup location.

Its not possible to change this location in the product, but you can set your backup drive in such a way that these two files get sync in your backup drive.

But, remember you cannot just import this into your profile directly. When you are planning to restore, you need to place these two DAT files in the same location above and you need to remember your identity safe password. Reason is, when you place these files in your restore machine, when you open identity safe in the product it would prompt for the password which would be the profile password of the backup file.

Let me know if you have any queries.

Regards,

Prasanna
