Identity Safe Not Working

My Identity Safe logins no longer work?

Identity Safe is asking me to set up a new account? I have an existing folder "Norton Identity Safe" with my log ins stored but Identity Safe does not recognize it anymore?

I have NIS 2010

17.1.0.19

Hi Dmpleman,

After logging into identity safe, could you check following option is checked in Identity safe options

"Securely collect and store my logins and offer to fill in those logins when I revisit those pages"

Thanks,

Hello Dennis,

Is the Norton Toolbar and Identity Safe Icon visible in your browser?  And could you check that the Symantec / Norton add-ons are enabled?

Thanks!

Mmmm... something really odd about the Norton Toolbar display, which was there but truncated at the end of a line. So I disabled then re-enabled it and it moved down a line and was properly displayed. Then I turned on Norton Safe Web, which was off and hey! what do you know Identity Safe sprang to life. Problem solved, thank you!!

We have a new computer with Windows 7.  Newly installed Norton Security 2012 and imported password from another computer, also with 2012.  I read some of the comments earlier and reinstalled the newest version of Security, set up identity password and reimported passwords from previous computer.  There is no response.  It does not fill in the existing passwords or ask for new ones. I am at a loss.

On the older computer, do another backup of your Identity Safe Data. Settings - Web - Identity Safe. Click on 'configure' beside Export Data. Save this on your computer. Copy this to the new computer via network or USB key.

On the new computer, follow the same steps except click configure beside Import Data. Import from the copy you just made.

Another option is to move your Identity Safe data online. Then you can log in from any computer that has Identity Safe installed.

I also have installed IS12 to Windows 7 64 bit.  I have entered login info and Identify Safe does not come up when accessing a web site, nor will it ask for new login information.  Are some web surfers not compatible with IS12?

Hi,

It depends on the browser that you use. Norton Identity Safe does not support any 64-bit browsers, so if you have that then the Norton Toolbar will be disabled. If you are on Firefox you need to make sure you are using the latest 2~3 versions and the Norton add-ons are enabled.

Regards,

Albert

Some web sites do not work properly with Identity Safe. If you encounter one of these, you can click on the Identity Safe icon on the Norton Toolbar and click Report Issue. This is where you can send the URL of the web site to Norton to have them investigate why Identity Safe is not working.

well I am not sure what you know, what you want to do. Do you want Norton to prompt you for user name and password when you go to certain sites that require user name and password? Do you know that each time you reboot you need to reopen the vault?

What is your operating system?

What actions have you taken to attempt correction - in addition to rebooting?

Have you tried running the Norton Remove and Reinstall tool?

www.Norton.com/nrnr

Have you tried running the Norton Power Eraser?

http://security.symantec.com/nbrt/npe.aspx

If you do not have administrator rights on your system have you contacted your network administrator for assistance?

I am assuming that your operating system and security software are up to date.

There are additional steps that can be taken if the above suggestions do not resolve the problem

Stay well and surf safe
