Idle Scan

I have Mac OS 10.7.5. When idle scan is run no viruses are found but a number pending always shows.  Can someone please tell me what this pending number means?  Thank you very much.

<script id="ncoEventScript" type="text/javascript">// function DOMContentLoaded(browserID, tabId, isTop, url) { var object = document.getElementById("cosymantecnisbfw"); if(null != object) { object.DOMContentLoaded(browserID, tabId, isTop, url);} }; function Nav(BrowserID, TabID, isTop, isBool, url) { var object = document.getElementById("cosymantecnisbfw"); if(null != object) object.Nav(BrowserID, TabID, isTop, isBool, url); }; function NavigateComplete(BrowserID, TabID, isTop, url) { var object = document.getElementById("cosymantecnisbfw"); if(null != object) object.NavigateComplete(BrowserID, TabID, isTop, url); } function Submit(browserID, tabID, target, url) { var object = document.getElementById("cosymantecnisbfw"); if(null != object) object.Submit(browserID, tabID, target, url); }; // </script>

<script id="ncoEventScript" type="text/javascript">// function DOMContentLoaded(browserID, tabId, isTop, url) { var object = document.getElementById("cosymantecnisbfw"); if(null != object) { object.DOMContentLoaded(browserID, tabId, isTop, url);} }; function Nav(BrowserID, TabID, isTop, isBool, url) { var object = document.getElementById("cosymantecnisbfw"); if(null != object) object.Nav(BrowserID, TabID, isTop, isBool, url); }; function NavigateComplete(BrowserID, TabID, isTop, url) { var object = document.getElementById("cosymantecnisbfw"); if(null != object) object.NavigateComplete(BrowserID, TabID, isTop, url); } function Submit(browserID, tabID, target, url) { var object = document.getElementById("cosymantecnisbfw"); if(null != object) object.Submit(browserID, tabID, target, url); }; // </script>

This is correct; is should still Run every-three-days.  Hopefully they will change this in N.I.S. 2010.

Thanks for the info, appreciate it.

Hi, Thank you. I did remove it the java update 20...Okay so how do I go about getting rid of the tojans? In my recent post it looks like folders? that they are in..I would like to get them off if I can.

Thank you

Did Norton not Quarantine the files?

Hi humminbird,

Check your Norton Security History logs to see if Norton has quarantined the files.  If so, you are safe by leaving them there or using the option to remove them permanently.

Only these are the folders? That the virus went into or thats where the java is at??

Hi humminbird

You are not seeing the Java control panel because you uninstalled Java via the Windows control panel's add/remove. As SendOfJive has indicated, the threats have been quarantined so you should be OK leaving them there or deleting them from Norton quarantine.

Run another full scan with Norton and also with Malwarebytes free version which can be downloaded from here

www.malwarebytes.com

Download the free version, install it, update it and then run a full scan.

Thanks

Hi nancywolitzer, and welcome!

Since there is a specific board for Norton for Mac, I'll ask a Moderator to move your message over there for better exposure.

You will easily find it as a link will be left here.

Where are you seeing this number? Can you attach a screenshot?

I have attached a screen shot that shows the box I refer to in my original question. Thank you for your help.

Thanks, I should have realized what you meant.  That refers to 5 pending notifications.  If you hit the "Next" button you will see the next most recent, etc.

Hi,

have you something installed?

have you looked in your Spam Folder (Mail).

can you please post an Logfile from Norton.

In the Logfile from Norton you will see any File of them ...

If their any Information feel free and post them.

greets
