Idle Time Optimizer: Set to OFF, keeps returning to ON!

I have repeatedly and routinely checked Norton Internet security 2011 settings and found that after disabling Idle Time Optimizer, the program will reset it to be on again.  I have not been able to determine when NIS changes my settings back to on, but it is exceptionally frustrating, and I would like a fix.

I have computers both with the SSD and without SSD, but I do not want my Norton Internet security to optimize my drives. (I understand that the software now recognizes SSD drives and supposedly will not try to optimize them.)  I share the sentiments of other for posting that an Internet security product has no business incorporating drive defragmentation, there are plenty of other products that supply that feature, and as many have said, it makes more sense incorporated into Norton 360 than it does into NIS.

Personally, I use Diskeeper and have done for over a decade, and I would like Diskeeper to handle my defragmentation needs for HDDs, which is why I want Norton Idle Time Optimizer to stay OFF once I have set it off.

Are there any Diskeeper users out there reading this? Is there any information about NIS Idle Time Optimizer integration with Diskeeper, affecting Diskeeper, etc ?  But most importantly, I need a way to have NIS 2011 to retain my settings choices and not revert back to allowing Idle Time Optimizer to be "on".

I have actually liked the overall performance of NIS 2011, however if the Idle Time Optimizer settings issue is not resolved, I will not hesitate to dump Norton and go with a different product. I am responsible for many clients for whom I have suggested and installed both Norton and Diskeeper, and I will not tolerate a software product engaging in behavior like disk "optimization" without allowing the user to be able to fully (and truly) set it to be turned off.
