I have noticed that NIS 2010 always initiates an idle time virus scan at the same time I'm running a full hard drive backup. Once a month I use Acronis True Image to manually run an immediate full hard drive backup to an external USB drive. Backing up my hard drive is a very lengthy process by itself, and I certainly don't want an idle time scan to be competing with it. I regularly run both quick and full virus scans at other times between these monthly backups. Why would NIS think the system is idle when the hard drive is being hit continuously for 2-3 hours?
