There are many valid reasons why some of us find it desirable and/or necessary to stick with Internet Explorer and we try to help with that before suggesting a switch.

Any one trying the IE8 Beta. Seems to sporadically turn off Phishing Protection within Norton Ver 8 haven't spotted a trend yet.
Has any one seen similar and if so found a cure?
I'm guessing you mean Norton Internet Security 2008 as the "Norton Ver 8" product. Is this correct?
Sorry, you are absolutely correct should have read 2008.
Tried posting in the IE8 Beta group on MS but no feed back yet. May have jumped the gun a bit loading the Beta (grin)
It’s always good to find these things early, before it becomes a bigger problem. Thanks!
Thank you for your question about IE 8 compatibility. We update our solutions after the final version of a new browser is released since there are typically several changes between the beta version and the final one. Since we have not tested and certified the Norton toolbar (ID Safe, anti-phishing) against the IE 8 beta, we cannot tell you with any certainty to what extent it is compatible. In the case of IE 8, the plans we’ve seen suggest the shipping version will be available in October 2008. We will update NIS to ensure it is fully compatible shortly thereafter.
Thanks,
