Impossible to manage the chaos of norton 360 first of all the VPN Split Tunneling with Thunderbird.
Mixing avast and norton before having carried out all the possible tests of functionality and compatibility demonstrate how a good product has worsened, furthermore the various complaints about reliability and functionality problems and not least the proposals for further purchases of not very useful programs sponsored for alleged serious errors of the operating system.
Making only money leads to the loss of users in the long run.
I will not recommend and will not install norton on customer PCs.

What issue are you having with VPN Split Tunnel with Thunderbird? I have that set up and have no issues getting and sending my email. Be sure you are setting up the split tunnel using the thunderbird.exe file and not just the app name that comes up when you try to set it up.

I use it correctly with thunderbird.exe except that with various PCs it doesn’t always work and this is extremely annoying because I have to close VPN to view all the mail from the various providers, with the old version of Norton it didn’t happen.

What could be different on the “various PC’s” you are having difficulty with? OS versions, installed apps?

They are all (8) laptops and desktops with Windows 11 pro 24H2 updated and similar with basic programs installed. Thunderbird with provider (Fastweb.it-Tiscali.it-Libero.it-Tin.it-Hotmail.it-Gmail.com) updated to 128.7.1 work perfectly and sometimes the VPN blocks access and to access the mail you have to remove the VPN.

@gunterh Are any of these devices running insider builds on Windows 11? If so that is a possible cause and issue with Norton. Just another question to determine whether this is a part of your issue.
