As joen put it so eloquently in the first thread:
Most, not all, of the participants of this forum are 1) experienced computer users (in general) and 2) experienced security software users.
But new computer users and new security software users (and, slight variation, new Norton users) come to this forum with beginner level questions. They're near the beginning of the "experience curve."
I appreciate that those who have helped me are 'willing helpers' but I feel that this forum coukld help less-experienced members by one simple step:
When you join the forum, you're advised to read the Participation Guidelines and Terms of Service. Could there also be a link to a Sticky (titled e.g. "UPDATES - Important announcement") in which you set out e.g. the difference between Live Update and New Version Checker, and the importance of subscribing to the Announcements Board.
