Incompatibility betweeen Norton 360 and Yahoo mail

Hi:

This is my first post on Norton.  Had immense difficulties renewing Norton 360 on-line.  Takes all the personal info including credit card info and then responds saying "Sorry,  your request could not be processed using this method"  or something to that effect.  It gives no phone number to call.  Now I live in upstate NY.  So, I thought Norton simply does not care for upstate New Yorkers - quite understandable.

So I had my spouse living in CA buy a Norton 360 version 3.0 and install it in her laptop PC running Windows XP.  (I will load the program when I visit CA next).

Here's why this is posted on Sartori's thread.  My spouse called me to complain that she has lost her ability to log into Yahoo Mail.  Every time she enters her login ID and password, it loops back to the same yahoo mail sign-in box.  On googling the incompatibility between Norton and Yahoo Mail, I got to this post.

I will have her try Vineeth's suggestion, except this time around the incompatibility is between Norton 360 ver. 3.0 and Yahoo Mail (regular or classic).

I am not sure whether Sartori has installed Norton 360 ver. 3.0 or defected to the McAfee camp (wouldn't blame him one little bit, if he did).

Any new suggestions for Windows XP users using Norton 360 ver. 3.0 and Yahoo Mail on solving the incompatibility issue?

Hi Supermenon,

Welcome to Norton Community!

There won't be any incompatibility between Norton 360 V3 and Yahoo Mail, but there may be some issues with Norton 360 configurations for yahoo Mail which you need to setup.Try disabling the Smart firewall from Norton 360 and then try to access the Yahoo Mail. Make sure that you have uninstalled previous Security product (Norton or Macfee) from the computer completely before installing Norton 360. If you have any other Parental Control Program installed, you can try disabling that also.

You don't have to wait till your next vsist to CA. You can download and install a trialware of Norton 360 from Symantec Web site and activate it using the same Product Key which your spouse used(Hoping that it is good to use in 3 computers). Let us know how it goes.
