Incredimail

I've always been an Outlook Express user, but quite a few years ago I switched to Incredimail because it allows me to be a lot more versatile with emails. However I only used it occasionally, using Outlook Express for mostly everything. But when it became apparent that Microsoft was phasing email out of the os, I switched to Incredimail totally since it was fully paid for and I don't have Microsoft Office to be able to have access to Outlook.

The reason for this post is, I'm concerned that my email is not being scanned. I DO realize that Norton does not show Incredimail when I got to set up Antispam in the client intergration, so I am not seeing the emails being scanned like I did when I used Outlook Express and this disturbs me. Even though it's not being scanned as I am used to seeing it scanned, my 360 is still scanning everything that comes in and goes out of my computer.....Right???

Who can I write to in order to try and get Incredimail officially recognized and scanned by Norton? I REALLY need to be in my comfort zone, seeing the scans and knowing I'm protected. I'm just not feeling that now and it's making me crazy.

That is awesome news, thank you so much! I am sure I might have had problems long before if Norton hadn't been doing its job, but I am very happy to know for sure. You can't be too careful in this day and age. Again, thanks bunches!

Hi Nightgypsy,

As long as your incoming mail is using port 110, Norton will continue to scan the messages.  You should still be seeing the [Norton AntiSpam] tag on suspected spam.  You should be able to create a rule in Incredimail to move this tagged mail to either the Junk folder, or a Norton AntiSpam folder that you create yourself within the Incredimail program.  Essentially, there are workarounds that should allow you to continue to use the Norton features, even though Incredimail is not supported for client integration.

I went in and checked my email settings and my MSN and Gmail POP accounts are running incoming mail on port 995. Only my Earthlink is running on port 110 like you say. So that means the others are not being scanned??

Do you know if I can change this somehow because that simply is not going to work, what a nightmare.
