I currently backup my C drive to my internal D drive with Ghost V15 and have been successful with base about every 6 months and incrementals weekly. Because i periodically run out of space on the D drive ( both C and D are ITB drives) i move the old backups to another external drive and free up space on the D drive accordingly . Recently i starting doing offsite backups to another external , along with the weekly backups from C to D drive and something got messed up. Even when i set up a manual base ( with offsite working fine) . and expect an incremental 6 days later ( ie started Last Saturday Aug 2 after 11 pm ) but tonight Aug 9 the next "scheduled backup " was a base again . Since each Base is 250 GB i quickly run out of space on my 1 TB D drive. I was expecting that the next scheduled backup on Aug 9 should have been a incremental but unfortunately it was a "scheduled base" on Aug 9 even though i had just done a manual base Aug 2 but in fact already had a working backup job for weekly incrementals
What do i need to do to get the incrementals to work again ? Do i need to
1) Disable the current backup ( or erase it ) and
2) Start a fresh new backup . perhaps not on Saturday nights just to make sure Ghost does an initial Base and weekly incremental on another evening
Is there something i am missing that is preventing the incrementals from working ? Is it possibly related to the addiitional offisite ? Also i note that even though i increased the allowed recovery points to 100 ( well in excess of one year) i still get error messages saying i have exceeded my recovery points . Indeed some of the menus state that i have done my first backup in June 2012 even though i have made changes in partitions backed up in early July 2014 - so maybe i have to erase or disable the current weekly backup and start all over with a fresh backup definition to get the incrementals in sync again ?
Finally additional question - if i have a scheduled base and presumably an incremental the next week , can i edit the schedule to have the incremenat occur earlier ?
Very frustrating since Ghost 15 has worked well for last 2 years and i have not changed or updated my Win 7 PC or changed the Ghost install so unclear why incrementals wont work . Can send screen shot of recent copies from backup history if helpful ?
thanks for any advice
