Insight Protection

Greetings to Norton Community. I have installed an upgraded version of NIS 2010. My computer has Win XP Home SP3. NIS 2010 works fine. I have some doubt about the Norton Insight Network. It shows 66,234,111 good files in Green colour, 12,714, 314 known bad files. And it building repurtation for unknown number of files. What does it simply mean? whether bad files compromise the OS and its securtiy? Is it possible for NIS to remove bad files identifited by it?  If so, how to remove them?  The number of  bad files shown in Red colour. Is this really a problem? Does the Norton community has any fix for this?  Thank you.

Best Wishes, dsvasan

That is for the overall community not just your machine,it shows you a whole community overview of all the files .Do you see where it says your computer on the left under Norton community?

These bad files are not on your machine.

Correct. This is the total ammount of known files in the Norton Cloud. All Norton machine contribute to this cloud. So you benefit from it

Insight Protection is a feature provided to just view the external world's threat status. The input for this is from the other Norton user machines which forms a huge Norton Cloud.

This link explains about this feature,
