G'Day Symantec Staff & Forum Administrator's.

Well it was a while ago I made myself heard in this forum.

If I do not remember completely wrong, I highlighted the question and the lack of security with Norton 360 and its password character limitation which according to me was set with a limit of only 20 characters. I still think it is the customer who conclusively shall determine the level of security through the choice of how many characters the individual in question wants to use.

Since it's been awhile since I took up the safety issue so I hope that there has been a change for the better. But if not, I ask Symantec to seriously take note of the topic and resolute come to the decision to increase the safety of Norton (Security & 360) products with greatly increase maximum limit of number of characters in terms of all the logins and the passwords.

What irritates me the most was when I was about to change my password on Facebook and discovered to my horror that even in Identity Safe and its menu to save the login password also included a scandalous inferior limit of the password characters. I feel urged to mention in this context that Facebook has a limit of login password of 500 characters and viewed in contrast to the Symantec security breach context, one cannot more than feel distrust of Symantec's way of gambling with the customers integrity. That put me in a awkward situation since I could not save my relatively long password (not 500 though) for my FaceBook as I wanted.

In closing, I ask please if that is not already done, do something to increase the password character limitation for your customers.

Yours Sincerely, Bengt “WOLF” Johansson.(loyal customer since ages).
