I have just purchased and installed the download version of Norton 360. The downloader and installer does not give me an option for the installation directory. Is it possible to install the software in a partition other than C: and if so, which files should I download or what switches should I use?

When you launch setup (where you need to click 'Agree & Install'), you will have an option "Install Options". When you click that, 'default location' will be present. Browse and change it to the location you want.
I bought Norton 360 / 3 pack. I installed it on computer #1. Although I wanted to put it, and all utilities, on my D: partiiton, I was forced to put it on the C: partition. When I installed it on my second computer, I saw the very-hard-to-spot option to put 360 somewhere else. NOW, on computer #1, I want to uninstall 360 from my C: partition and reinstall it on the D: partition. Will this be a problem as Norton/Symantec will think that I am cheating by loading 360 on four computers?

Thank you.
You should not have a problem as you are still installing on the same physical computer.
If you do run into a problem you can log into Norton Management at www.manage.norton.com and click on the My Account tab. Click on Product Details and then click on the trash can beside the old installtion you want to regain. This will free up the activation for you.
Say I install N360 on my drive D: on a system that has the Windows operating system on Drive C:, where does it put the Norton files that your image shows as going in Program Files (x86) and where does it put the Norton files that normally show up under Users\ .....
Won't these folders be on Drive C: since they relate to the operating system.
Does Norton 360 create a different set of folders or ..... ?
The files which will be created under C:\ProgramFilse(x86) will be created under the user specified location. All other files like "Users\..." will remain the same.
Arnold,
As Peter mentioned, there should be no issues when you uninstall and reinstall N360 in another drive. After reinstall, it will take up the older license by itself.
Norton products can be installed on drives other than the drive with the OS on it.
The files normally found under C:Program Files(X86) will be on the drive that Norton was installed on.
All other files like Users will remain on the OS drive.
Regardless of where the user originally installed the Norton Product, if we suggest NRnRT, a clean install, a revert to a former product (NIS v 20 to NIS 2012), the instructions we provide will not change as a result of Norton being on an other drive besides the OS drive.
I must ask this:
C:\ProgramData\Norton\{0C55C096-0F1D-4F28-AAA2-85EF591126E7}\NIS_20.2.1.22 - is the normal location - does this change if Norton is installed on another drive - or does this location also fall under the "Users\" will remain on the C:\. I ask as the Identity Safe Data Store is located here and I use that sometimes for trying to locate a lost IDDStore2.
Re reinstalling…I have reinstalled using NRNR and the Program files(x86) remained on the non OS drive. If you use NRT and a fresh download you will have to reset the drive choice from the install options screens.

Thanks peterweb, so in reality, it would be the user's responsibiity to be aware they need to install to an alternate location with a clean install.

I would think that most users that would be wanting to move the install location would probably have the knowledge to check with a clean install.
Most standard users would not even have more than one drive or partition on their system, so we should not run into this too often.
