I have just upgraded from NIS 2011 to NIS 2012 and a shortcut folder labelled "Norton Installation Files" has appeared on my desktop I find it leads me to file {NIS 19113-SHPD-FSD 21017} which contains five files as in the image shown. The path to this file is My Computer -> Shared Documents -> Norton ->. Can these be deleted?
Re my post above - the image is not legible. Apologies. The files are "2012 plugin.dll" - "downloader info" - "NIS Downloader" -"NIS-UPGRADE- ESD-NoDefs-19-1-1-3-EN" - symcdefs.
Yes, you can delte them: they are not needed for the functionality of your Norton program. They are in case you need to reinstall your product at a future time - however, you can download the installer of the product again instead, and then you would not need them then either. They are a convenience in such cases, but if you delete them, you will not remove anything you can't easily get again when and if you need it.
