I'm having issues installing the trial version of NIS 2012.
Upon starting installation I am greeted with in red letters: "A problem has occured that needs your attention. This process is unable to continue due to a system service that may not be installed or cannot be started. Please repair your installation of Windows."
When I try running Power Eraser it fails upon startup saying that I have a problem with my internet connection and advises me to try running in safe mode which does not work either.
No idea why it claims my internet has problems, obviously there is no problem with my internet as I'm using it right now to type this. : ) Other AV on-demand scanners have no issue running on my machine and/or updating their definitions.
My system details are as follows:
Dell Inspiron Notebook. Model - E1405
A very new install of Windows 7 32bit Home. All updates have been applied. Service Pack 1 is running.
The system is virus/malware free. I have verified this with Webroot Secure Anywhere, MBAM, Dr. Web, Hitman Pro and ESET.
So can anyone tell me what's going on here and what I can do to get these products to work on my system?
