Is there a way to purchase a new key directly from Norton and have it installed and added on top of the one already installed.
for users that pass this way:

LinYu2:That is exactly the same page I get to, as I described elsewhere, except for the extra generosity represented by an additional 20% you were offered...
I guess it may be an extra privilege exclusively reserved for gurus...
Well, as it happens. I'm less than 30 days to term expire. Maybe, that's why 20%?
Norton process may not be fair/same for all users, all the time...however, Norton does offer users process options.
1) recurring subscription service...service at a $
2) shop $ at reputable retail/online vendors
3) wait ~ 30 days before term expire > review Norton offers
*Important Subscription, Pricing and Offer Details: apply for all users
Users may always discuss renewal options/$ with Norton sales/support.
I've posted all above, just to say. Norton is $$$
So, due diligence when/wherever possible.
As you know.

It's also worth mentioning that, side by side to their offer of a price for their mentioned upgrade, there is another offer to renew my current version also at a bonus price. So, going back to my only question, my confusion comes from the different interpretations/opinions that I have been reading about the issue. The last thing I want is to lose the time I already paid for to go after a "discount" that could turn out to be a "premium", so to speak.

And as bjm_ has noted, even if you did enter new product key that did not add to your current subscription time, you can still contact Norton Support to ask them to add the time from the new key to the older subscription.
Hello bjm!
You look like that ancient story about the "good Samaritan". And you seem to be the only one at that!... Appreciated.
Well, the problem is there has been no progress... Honestly, I don't feel like under pressure. I posted the above query following an attractive offer from Norton but I still could not get a definitive and clear answer to my reluctance in accepting it: Does it or does is it not my eventual acceptance allow me to add the extra time to my current subscription?
Norton says: "Your Norton protection expires in --- day(s)." And this number of days is quite huge! And then they add:
Welcome. Thank you for choosing to stay with Norton. To show our appreciation, we have an upgrade deal that gives you all the features of your current protection plus more. Say hello to our most flexible protection yet.

What is your take?

Hello @LinYu2
~ my practice with new Norton key
1) register the key to my Norton account
2) contact Norton support - request new key term added to current key term
Note:
- new key from Norton direct - subscription term starts at payment
- new key starts new subscription term
- cancel recurring subscription service and remove billing information
When you enter a Norton product key at www.norton.com/setup, if it is a new key, it will register the key to your Norton Account.
