The download was fine. My Netbook came with McAfee Security Suite preinstalled.
Norton 360 Netbook initializes and then finds "incompatible application detected". It says it is removing the incompatible application (McAfee Security Suite) but after an hour, it is still saying it is removing it.
I tried uninstalling McAfee in the Control panel - no luck.
We have a N360 forum here so I'll ask for your message to be moved for better coverage. You won't lose sight of it since there will be a link here to the new location.
Please add more details of your netbook -- what version of Windows? XP or WIN 7?
You almost certainly need to have run the special McAfee tool to completely remove it -- Remove Programs is not enough and many of the security software companies have special tools, including Norton, but someone will give you detaila on all this.
How do I get the special "McAfee Removal tool" to completely remove it?
How do I get the details on this?
See SendoJives' link for the McAfee tool.
Since your installation of the N360 did not complete I think you should probably:
Look in Remove Programs and if N360 is listed then Remove it.
Then get the Norton Removal Tool and run it a couple of times with a reboot between to remove any traces of N360's failure.
Then start the installation of the downloaded N360 from the installation file if you saved it; otherwise I'd download the one piece installation file and use that.
Again I'll have to leave it to others to give you the best link for the Norton Removal Tool and for the netbook version of Norton 360 since I do not have them on my PC.
