Yes, it is compatible. Please check the System Requirements

Is NIS 2009 compatible with Windows XP Service Pack 3 installed on my HP Pavillion laptop?

Thank you.

Yes it is.

Do you have a symantec Product installed already?  If so, what Product and Version, for example, N.I.S. 2006?

The system requirement page I had looked at did not indicate "service pack 2 and above"...only service pack 2.

Thank you for your quick response.

I am far from a computer genius here...thank you for your tolerance as well.

Judy

Floating Red, I have NIS 2008 installed now...it is working fine.

Staples is offering NIS 2009 for $19.99 with $50 in rebates...but only 'til Saturday...didn't want to purchase it if I was not compatible.

Thanks for the help.

I have NIS 2009 with SP3 and its fine. SP3 was a small service pack unlike SP2. BTW read the fine print at Staples. I believe thats only if you buy something else also.I found a 1 user NIS for $29.99.

Not bad I got my 3 licenses of N360 for 20 bucks. On the other hand there was a kaspersky internet security one yr. licenese for 20 bucks.

I bought my 3 licenses right from Symantec. I was so happy with the 15 day trail I bought it. $70 for 3 licenses is fine to me. I put it on my Mothers pc and my Girlfriends pc.

Good point although I just checked their flyer and it does not appear to call for a parallel purchase in this case.

BTW It is Forum policy not to post links to specific sales outlets -- I guess Norton don't want to seem to play favorites <s>

Thank you all for your responses… 'tis greatly appreciated.
