Anyone going out to purchase a new computer this shopping season should read this article before doing so. Intel's current new processors have some very serious remote code execution issues as are outlined in this article.

Both of my gaming rigs are AMD powered but my laptop, which I just sold was an older i5 M540 CPU which I am sure was on that list. Gotta look for new BIOS update for them both. One is a Gateway and the other HP Envy.

The Intel Detection Tool mentioned above still shows my machine is vulnerable but the BIOS information shows it "Improves the security of UEFI code and variables".

I can't say if my machine has been patched for this or another bug. 
I just received a BIOS update for my HP desktop PC. Maybe a fix for this issue.
