I used Internet Download Manager to download a YouTube video. After the video downloaded a window popped up that said I did not have an flv player installed, to play the video. I was then given a chance to install the flv player. After this happened I was redirected to Tonec.com where Norton identified 4 threats. I uninstalled it after this happened.
I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced any similar problems or suspicious activity when using Internet Download Manager.

Hi nighthawk1,
Thanks for the information. Have you run a full scan with N360?
I wil also ask the moderator to move this thread to the N360 board.
Best wishes.
Allen
After I left Tonec.com I did a quick scan. Norton detected that I had 55 tracking cookies, which were fixed.

Hi nighthawk1,
I suggested running a full scan, not a quick scan.
Best wishes.

Are the four threats you type of from Norton Safe Web: Norton Safe Web, from Symantec - report for tonec.com?
The offending file in all four cases is update.exe which 25 vendors at VirusTotal detected. Symantec and Microsoft confirm their detection as a false positive.
You won't see this reflected in Norton Safe Web until Norton re-scans the website and I haven't seen it reflected in NIS2011's definitions yet. Edit: Reflected in NIS2011's definitions.

update.exe still has a bad reputation (File Insight). It is now detected as WS.Reputation.1 by Symantec at VirusTotal but not by NIS2011.
