It seems Microsoft has just recently left a lot of Internet Explorer 11 users in the lurch by failing to point them to the need for an upgrade of their Dot Net Installation. I had the same BEX error that many others have had and tried some of the online suggestions without success. I then suspected that I might have to upgrade my Internet Explorer but that was not the case. When I checked via the control panel what updates were available to my 64 Bit Windows 7 the only one listed was Dot Net 4.5.2. I installed it and the problem was solved. I trust that my success after five hours of work on the issue will help to save others from the same or worse. Perhaps also there is a case for letting Microsoft know that they have just created a whole army of irate Windows 7 users.
