Internet security disabled in chrome

Hello,

Internet security does not seem to work in Chrome. Tab is greyed out. See screenshot. All extensions are properly installed, updated to the latest version of chrome but problem still persists. If i switch to edge everything looks ok - see screenshot. Pleaae advise.

Come on, is it so hard to admit that you have a bug in your product. We are not getting anywhere like this

I run Norton.  I'm not Norton. 
I'm still curious, is "Not set up" new/recent behavior? 
Did Internet Security tile even report "Protected" for Chrome? 

We'll need W11 user to chime in.

Norton Safe Web needs to be installed/enabled in Profile 1. 

Set up now - You are now protected online by Norton

Are you saying the issue is fixed now?

If not, it sounds like it is time to get a fresh install of your Norton product.  Download and run the Norton Removal and Reinstall Tool from   www.norton.com/nrnr   Be sure you use the Advanced Options > Remove Only . Then restart your computer, be sure you are using the Restart command. Not Shutdown and startup again if you have Windows Fast Startup feature enabled. If you use Windows 8/8.1, 10 or 11, there can be an issue with the Windows Fast Startup feature.. See more information here.

Then log into your Norton Account and download a fresh copy of your Norton Product. Then run LiveUpdate manually a few times, restarting as necessary, until no updates are available? Then restart again.

Then check if you are still seeing the issue. You may have to use Set up Now again.

 

 

Turned Chrome sync off - issue still persists

Norton install casual? - i had this issue on other clients as well. I doubt that the install was casual on each client.

Windows 11 - definately a possible cause. Does somebody else use windows 11 with chrome ? Maybe testing it on a virtual machine would shed some light on the issue.

Okay.  I'm W10.  IDK regarding W11. 
Maybe, Chrome Sync is causal.  I do not run Chrome Sync.  IDK

I imagine, as you imagine, your "Not set up" issue is either Norton side or Chrome side. 

Maybe, reset/refresh Chome (save/backup Chrome bookmarks).

Yes", and i posted a screenshot called set up in my previous posts. That what i am baffled about, everything looks ok  and green , like you said protected , but still the internet security tile is greyed out, why????

Did you click on Set Up Now? 

I am not refering to the safeweb icon in the chrome browser. It is the internet security tile in the application that is always greyed out despite everything being installed properly in the browser.

Are you referring to the SafeWeb icon/tile in your Chrome browser?

safeweb on edge.JPGIf so, it can show grey if you are connected to a page that is stored locally on your computer. This example is when I open a new tab in Chrome on a blank page.

What happens with "Set Up Now" 

Maybe, run Norton LiveUpdate + Restart (not Shut down) machine.
