Intrusion attempt by Symantec again?

My DLink router (DIR-825) reports the following,

Blocked incoming TCP SynAck packet from 143.127.102.125:80 to x.x.x.x:3469 with unexpected sequence.

(x.x.x.x refers to my external IP)

And there are many records by that same IP address. A previous post here also reports the same.

Any idea?

It would appear to be explained in the thread that you included.  I expect that one of the Mods will pass on the info to the appropriate department in Symantec.

Hopefully they will, but that post is pretty old.... it shouldn't have repeated....

Anyway we'll see.....

This appears to be different from the thread that you referenced. In that thread an invalid destination port was being specified while your error is an unexpected sequence number.

It appears that your Norton product is attempting to connect to one of the Symantec servers and the response isn't what was expected. The mostly reason for this type of error is either a very slow/unreliable network connection or an overloaded server. Is this still occurring?

Sorry for late reply, but I'm getting it here and there and I'm getting the same message from many more IPs (not related to Symantec).. May be my network issue like you've said... It has been slow these days....

Since you are getting this from other addresses as well I don't think that you need to be concerned about this particular error. It does sound, however, like your ISP may have some filtering software that is messing up the sequence numbers or slowing things down way too much.

Thanks for the help... and it seems my ISP is playing the fool, lot of my friends (using the same ISP) says everything is slow... so I guess it's an ISP issue...

Thanks for the help again...
