Someone has been using my cell phone number to send messages (sms) and intercepts the responses. I recently changed my number and had about two months of reprieve. However, I notice on my cellular log there are numerous outgoing messages I haven’t sent and I get many texts (iMessages) saying things like “don’t worry, I’ll pay you by the end of the day” or “you can trust me to pay it all”. My friends send me messages that I never receive. Will adding the Norton for iOS prevent this from happening even though my system is clearly already infiltrated?
Hello. The short direct answer to your question is no. Norton will not help with the issues you are having after they have already happened. You should do two things immediately, get your cellular provider to work with you in securing your account. Work with Apple to secure your Apple ID and you may also need to get law enforcement involved. A third issue is users connecting to unsecured public WiFi. A VPN would help preventing the issues you are seeing but must be used before the compromise has taken place.
