Is NIS2009 ready for Clickjacking

Never heard of it. Be sure to use Firefox when browsing. I ran alot of tests on  NIS 2009. Keylogges, leak tests code injections and NIS stopped them all. Also browse using Sandboxie. I run Threatfire along side NIS.

Dear Dieselman,

http://www.mxlogic.com/itsecurityblog/1/2008/10/What-is-ClickJacking.cfm

Above is a link to information above ClickJacking.

I am using IE7 most of the time and seldom use Firefox.  Perhaps I should change.  I was also thinking of using Opera.

Anyway, I was thinking more if SONAR could be able to Stop it, just in case if browsers missed it.

Thank you

Clickjacking would be when your computer is hijacked by simply clicking on a malsite link.

Norton is supposed to protect against that, and it gets good reviews.  Just remember that no product is better than its knowledge of the threats out there.  There is always a gap in time between the creation of a new malware and its being identified.  For that reason, the first line of the defense is the user.  Go nowhere that you don't have reason to trust.  Click on nothing that you can verify who sent the link to you and why the link is being offered.  I have gotten so paranoid, I almost never click on email links.

Firefox is vulnerable and so are Macs, just not as vulnerable as Internet Explorer on PC machines.

Firefox with Ad Block Plus and No Script is very secure.

We to protect Firefox can supposedly so

Another great reason to use Firefox. I have actually blocked inter access to IE on my families pc’s so they never use it. I have trained all of them to use Firefox. The XP Anti Virus 2008 hits IE and not Firefox also.

hey can i recommend a browser too??? oh wait this thread is about something COMPLETELY DIFFFERENT than recommending browsers, it is about sea_moster posting an awesome question. anyone from nortons wanna comment? should we fear clickjackers? are they gonna jack my clicks?

Use Firefox with Ad Blocker and No Script.

Hi Dieselman,

Since you use Firefox more than I do, I was wondering if you have tried this new add-on which is supposed to aid in the prevention of clickjacking.

I think it just came out yesterday.

According to PCmag, Norton IS 2009 resisted simulated mouse clicks from a script. Norton also resisted process and service termination, while the rest of the competition, such as Bitdefender, were easily terminated by stopping essential services.

Helps if I read, huh? :robotwink: Thanks alot tech0utsider!

But the description of clickjacking linked to by the OP says it does not depend on a script ......

Hi huwyngr,

I agree.

I have read the same information from multiple sources that confirms it is not dependent upon a script.

That is what makes it such a threat.  All one has to do is to Google "clickjacking" and you will be presented with a myriad of articles on the topic.

Hi, I did not think a simple question could create complex answers (to me at least).  So I assumed that Mouse Clicks from Script = ClickJackings, it that case, I can say that I am fully covered by NIS2009...Good.

With regards to browser preference.....Actually, I have been using IE6&7...for banking, purchasing and other "important" matters.....(TOUCHWOOD)...so far so good, IE and NIS+ThreadFire+Router has not failed me once....& wished to remain so.

Last night I took the time to use Firefax & Opera, both are FAST but I think there are too many unnecessary features for a non-techie to use.  Most of which I do not have any idea how to use them.  Anyway, that is a different topic.

THank you all for your input.

Firefox comes stripped. You have to add on alot of features. What did you find to techie? My 70 year old mother uses Firefox. If your banking you especailly want to use Firefox. I do all my banking with Firefox under a Sandbox.

Your 70years old mother must be a very smart person....:smileyvery-happy:

I have been using IE for number of years....difficult for a old-monster like me to "learn" new things.  Moreover, there are things in the settings of FF that is making it unresponsive. But I shall heed to your recommendation and learn to use FF.

However, FF in Sandbox???  What is Sandbox?  Sound really difficult to use it.

Thank you

Nothing in this world is difficult if you simply read instructions. Here is a link for Sandboxie. Very easy to use. My Mother knows nothing about pc's except how to get online. What settings are you talking about in Firefox. I have never had to play with any settings. But I do uncheck the Bookmarks toolbar. All I ever do is install Firefox and let it rip. Then I add on Ad blocker Plus, Flash Got, Yahoo Toolbar and Febe. I also add on some themes. I like making Firefox look differnet.
