To help diagnosing this problem, try temporarily disabling the Norton Smart Firewall. From the main User Interface, click Advanced, then click the box beside Smart Firewall. Accept the option to turn off protection for 15 munutes. Trying to access your Google drive.Be sure to reset your firewall when you have finished.
thanks for the tip. I just tried it and it dont fix the problem.
Im am able to download from google drive - so I guess the conx is all right !?
Im starting to believe it is larger files Google wont accept and sends 'no connection' and it might be due to that google Drive want certain amount of upload speed as i can upload small text files.
I have tried to upload the large files via my other laptop (work laptop w/McAfee) it work ?!?!
I stille think something is due to the Norton settings.
I ran a conx.speed test with following results:
Computer A (the work laptop w/McAfee) - came out 20 MBit download / 1,99 Mbit upload.
Computer B (my home Dell with Norton) - came out 15 Mbit download / 0,98 Mbit upload.
I actually also tried to download the same file on both computers - computer B was alot slower.
I really believe there is too strict sercurity settings in Norton.
Can you or anyone assist to make the web browsing faster? It like everythime I open a new site - there is always a 1-3 sec. before it takes action
I find too many settings to control. I want to try this.
I use my laptop at home only (always). My internetset-up (win7) is a home network identity (if it means something).
I use it for video editing, Itunes and small surfing. But need the Google upload/download of large files.
Other than the Smart Firewall, I'm not sure what in Norton could be affecting a connection to the internet.
Is there any specific error message?
Can you take your home laptop in to work one day and try the upload? This could indicate whether there is an issue with your ISP. Or the other way around, if your employer allows it....take your work laptop home and see if it works.
I fixed it..I found this solution (other user having the same prob). I have removed the Norton....and it now works.
Actually I think it is not due to the Norton Internet Security
My solution (found in a nother forum/site)
I recently resolved the "unable to read file" with Google Docs upload functionality (I'm using Firefox 3.6.3 on Windows 7). I could upload only short TXT files, no other ones! I also had serious problems with network speed on ADSl, and I discovered that Microsoft added to Windows Vista and Windows 7 TCP prtocol a new global parameter for "autotuning" (see http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb%3Ben-us%3B934430&x=11&y=11). When I disabled that parameter I obtained more speed from network and (magic!) I also resolved the issue with Google Docs! To disable the parameter, execute Command Prompt with administrator privileges and type: netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled
I will install the Norton Internet security again and see if it still works. Anyway - I also realised I bought the 2012 Internet security and not the 2012 Antivius. I should have rened my 2011 Antivirus....hope I can make a swich
As for switching back to NAV, if you bought the NIS less than 60 days ago, you can contact Norton Support and request a refund. The best way to get them is with online chat found here www.norton.com/chat.
If you do decide to downgrade to the NAV, you should completely remove the NIS using the Norton Removal Tool found here www.norton.com/nrt.
Then you can install your NAV. Make sure to manually run LiveUpdate a few times, rebooting as necessary, until no updates are available.
