Hi. I recently read a glowing review about Norton Family Parental Control in PCMag.com, from which I got the strong (but maybe false?) impression that Norton Family has the ability to monitor and block content via any browser. From the review, "Norton Family Parental Control (for Android)", I quote: "Content filtering is browser-independent, of course, and since it handles HTTPS sites your kids can't evade it using a secure anonymizing proxy, even on Android."
I was very sadly surprised when, on installing Norton Family on my son's Moto E (running Android v4.4.4) that both of the browsers he uses - Opera and Photon Browser - are apparently unsupported and cannot be monitored.
Was the PCMag.com review wrong about browser support or did I misinterpret the "content filtering is browser-independent" statement? Or can somebody provide a list of 3rd party browsers that are supported by Norton Family?
This is potentially a deal-breaker for me, so I'd really appreciate the feedback.
Cheers,
- Chris
