I use Windows 10 on my PC, and there's a strange sound that keeps playing. I'm sure it's some kind of notification, but I cannot identify what program it's from. (It is NOT in the Windows sounds). Can you please identify this sound? Is it a Norton notification sound?

Thanks! I'll give that a shot.
This sound has been tormenting me for a while - I'd say over a year, and it goes off at random intervals, but never very frequently. I had to record my computer for more than 4 hours to capture that sound.
I install and uninstall a lot of software and games, so it's hard to pin down.
Thanks for trying for me.

Yeah, that is an interesting sound. How long has this been going on? How often does it occur? Any new software added that might be causing it?
It might pay to check out one of the malware removal forums:

The first one doesn't see a lot of traffic these days. Even if it's not malware they should be able to tell you what it is.
Perhaps downloading the free version of Malwarebytes and running it, just in case it is some sort of PUA / PUP (Potentially Unwanted Application / Program).

It may offer a trial of the Premium version but you can cancel the trial at any time.

Damn. I was hoping it would be something from Norton. I can't figure out what it's from. Well, thanks for answering.
Norton notifications do not make any sounds. It must be something else.
