In Norton 360 there is this file C:\ProgramData\Norton\VPN\Vpn.ini, and in it the key PreferredProtocol=?

• Navigate to the Norton installation directory (e.g., C:\Program Files\Norton\Norton 360\).
• Locate and open the vpn.ini file in a text editor (like Notepad).
• Add the line PreferredProtocol=mimic to the file. This makes the protocol selection visible in the app settings, allowing you to select Automatic or another protocol.

In my Norton 360, the Vpn.ini file is located in the ProgramData directory.

Enable Hidden Items (Windows 10/11):

• Open File Explorer.
• Go to the View tab in the top menu.
• In Windows 11, click Show and check the box for Hidden items.
• In Windows 10, check the Hidden items checkbox in the “Show/hide” group.

Navigate to the ProgramData Path:

• Go to the following directory:
  C:\ProgramData\Norton\VPN\

Locate and Edit vpn.ini:

• You should find the vpn.ini file here.
• Right-click the file and open it with a plain text editor (like Notepad).
• Add the line PreferredProtocol=mimic to the file.
• Save and close the file.

Restart Norton 360:

• Restart the Norton application for the changes to take effect. The protocol selection menu should now appear in the VPN settings.
