Hello everyone, Thank you in advance for your help. I had an old PC that would no longer turn on but I had many pictures on it. To get my pictures I removed the SSD and HDD and connected them to my new PC. In doing so, I scanned them both with Norton. Norton did not detect any threats on the HDD but on the SSD (where windows was installed) it detected the following: - ISUSPM.exe (Trojan.Gen.MBT) - ISUSPM.exe (Heur.AdvML.B) The file location was: Program File (x86)\Common Files\InstallShield\Update\ISUSPM.exe I was not previously using Norton on the old pc so I have no idea how long this was on my computer. I did some research and understand this is potentially a legit program but can sometimes be malicious. What I am trying to understand is: 1. Is this potentially a false positive? 2. If it’s not a false positive what kind of issues do these types of viruses cause and should I be worried? This was likely on the pc undetected for a long time so I am very concerned. Not sure if Trojan.gen.mbt indicates a particular kind of threat or action.. Please let me know what you are thinking and thank you in advance for your help. I appreciate your insight.
