If I receive Norton Security Suite thru Comcast would there also be a link to where I could get a full version for my cell phone .... For Mobil;e Security and Utilities from Norton as well ??
Hi MarcoKlifton.
Welcome to the Community.
I believe you have asked two virtually identical question, one here and the other in the Norton Mobile Utilities forum. I will try and respond to both here.
My understanding of the Comcast Security Suite is that it is, more or less, a Comcast licensed version of Norton 360. However Norton 360 in it basic form does not support Android devices and so the Comcast Security Suite does not offer protection for your mobile phone.
I believe that Comcast have an Android app for phones (the Xfinity Connect app) but as far as I am aware that does not provide phone security.
If you wish to use Norton Mobile Security (or NMS, called Norton Antivirus & Security on the Google Play Store) and Norton Mobile Utilities (NMU) on an Android phone then you can download the apps from the Google Play Store. NMS is also available for direct download from the Norton Online Store and NMU is expected to be there soon. Both these apps are available free from Google Play, though the more fully featured versions are both paid apps.
I hope that helps and answers your query. If not please feel free to come back and tell us what else you would like to know.
As you can obtain free versions from Google Play you may like to download them and try them before you make any final decisions. I must however warn you that after a recent upgrade of the version of NMS on Google Play a number of people are having problems registering the app, so if you are not in a rush, it may be better to wait for a few days in the hope that all the issues are sorted and that you will get a more reliable introduction to the software.
All the best.
I purchased 2 Norton MobileSecurity, one for phone and one for tablet. Received email from Norton stating they were no longer supporting comcast Mobile Services and have been trying to find anyone who got the same email.
Hi riruthless.
I am unclear what you are saying. If you purchased two license for Norton Mobile Security (NMS) or Norton Security antivirus as it is currently called in Google Play then Norton should support it as it has nothing to do with COMCAST, it is a Norton product. If you bought two copies of something like this from COMCAST then surely COMCAST have to support you during the licence period, after which you are free to change to NMS or whatever you choose.
So which is it?
By the way the free version of NMS gives a fair degree of protection and if you have not tried it before you can try all the bells and whistles free for a month I believe.
