Keep getting the "Norton 360 is requesting your permission" prompt over and over again

Runing Windows 7 and Norton 360 4.3.05. Thought I saw something about Norton 360 was gonna do an update or something. Anyway, now I get "Norton 360 is requesting your permission" in the task bar at the bottom. Clicking on it brings up a dialog box:

________________________________________________

User Account Control

Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?

Program Name: Norton 360

Verified Publisher: Symantec Corporation

File origin: Hard drive on this computer

YES     NO

____________________________________________

The problem is that it doesn't want to take YES for an answer. It keeps popping up over and over and over again.

Show details gives:

Program location: "C:\ProgramData\Norton\N360S_prod_1.6.

                                  "C:\ProgramData\Norton\N360S_prod_1.6.

                                   /FSD/ADMIN

How do I stop this nightmare?

It also doesn't want to take NO for an answer. Clicking NO and it keeps coming up as well. The only thing that got it to go away was hitting the X (close) on the dialog box at the top right.

If your subscription is current try a free upgrade to the current version 5. Be sure to reboot after the inswtall and again after running live update. Let us know how it goes

Hope this helps

I got rid of this infinite loop by hitting the close window button and not either the YES or NO buttons. However, here I am a week later and after seeing something about Norton 360 wanting to update itself, and I think it even bragged that the new version would be faster - I am once again stuck in an infinite loop. The same stuff - Do I want to allow Norton 360 to make changes on my computer - select YES and it pops up again - select NO - and it pops up again. When something like this happens I always wonder - am I the only person that ever experienced this? I would feel better if someone else has gotten this too. I hate it when the reply starts, "NEVER heard of something like that!".

Please tell us a bit more about your system. Any other security products running/installed/present? How did you do the upgrade? Uninstall from the control panel, reboot and then install? Operating system? Current, all updates and patches applied?

You might also download the free version of Malwarebytes scanner. Install it, update it and then run a full scan. It is compatible with Norton so they shouldn't object to each other being in the same system.

The questions about being allowed to do things almost sounds like a permissions problem. I am assuming that you are the administrator on this system. Surfing with a restricted account can prove useful but maintenance is sometimes a real problem if you don't have all of the keys to the kingdom.

Hope this helps. Be sure to let us know
