Keeps getting VBS.AUTORUN when performing Full virus scan

Hi whenever i run a full virus scan using Symantec Endpoint Protection 11, I kept getting VBS.Runauto virus detected every min which is being quarantine. It goes on forever, and fills up my C drive due to the repeative quarantine actions.

I've tried to boot my server 2003 in safe mode and run the anti-virus, however, the same problem occurs.

Is there any other way I can solve it?

Thanks.

Hi Dan,

Since you are using Symantec Endpoint protection (Corporate edition), you may have to post the same in Symantec Enterprise forum (http://forums.symantec.com) for getting more information on problems related to Enterprise product- Symantec AntiVirus. This forum is only for Symantec Consumer Products(Norton Internet Security, Norton AntiVirus, Norton 360 etc).

There is an option in Symantec Client for automatic cleanup of the quarantine folder, you may need to try that first to empty the space consumed by Quarantine. You can find more information on the following Support Articles for Symantec Endpoint protection (Corporate edition):

How to Manage Quarantined files

How to clear out Quarantined items from the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager

You can also refer to the removal instructions for VBS.Autorun in the following Symantec Security Response Article:
