Keylogger

I'm a parent and have kids and I need to know what my kids are actually doing on the computer.

I have tried onlinefamily.norton but that's not what I need.

I need a software that records everything that's they are doing  on the internet.

So I need something that will tell me exatly "what they did who they talked to on the net" so i know they not going to the wrong side or talking to bad people.

And I do have a keylogger that my friends told me is trusted and does a good job but everytime I try to install that keylogger software. As usual Norton does its job of removing it forever with no option left for me to get it back.

So is there anything I can do or anything else than using a keylogger or maybe anybody here may know of any keylogger that might be  trusted  by Norton people.

Anybody please help.

Please do not install any Malicious Software on your computer as this may be used by someone for Malicious purposes.  A Keylogger logs everything that you type.

You should only use OnlineFamily.Norton and such Products.

I've just looked at how Windows live family safety work.

Not what i wanted but as earlier said not to use any key loggers i wont and stick with the option that i have.

Thats why i didnt want ot use an key logger because it might go to some one else that might use it to do bad stuff.

thx anyway

Hi ice cream lover

Norton also has Family Safety Software. Have you looked into this?

Yes i have tried Online Family Norton.

Hi ice-cream-lover,

You´re afriad of keyloggers on your system after your kids visits on the Internet.

I fully understand how you feel, when not knowing and asking the question -

"is my system free of keyloggers"?

I´ve been using a so called BHO = Browser Helper Object.

The name of this BHO is Keyscrambler.

It encrypts all your keystrokes when you use your keyboard and typ-in anything in

your browser(s).

I´m using Keyscrambler in Internet Explorer 8 and Firefox 3.5.6.

You can find Keyscrambler by searching in the Firefox add-ons and read about

it and download/install. There you can also find the link to Keyscrambler - homepage.

My experience of Keyscrambler is around 5 month now and has helped me in my

Internet activities typing-in on many websites, secure and non-secure.

Good luck and take care !

Hi Se23an,

Welcome to Norton Community!

Do you know what is this program - C:\Program Files (x86)\IOI\ButtonMonitor.exe ?

Also, let us know whether you use proxy for connecting to the Internet.

Yogesh

I don't believe im connected to a proxy server and I don't know what program this is C:\Program Files (x86)\IOI\ButtonMonitor.exe ?

Check your Add/Remove Programs, and uninstall the Button Monitor. It seems to be a keylogger program.

Yogesh

Check your logs for the name of the malware it found and post it.

OK, I looked into what it was axactly and the file name was w32.shadesrat, found in winlogon.exe (resolved).

this came from privzate.exe and that was from a temporary file. The temporary file was from the java.exe I ran on the fake website. I completely got rid of the temporary files ( I think) and the privzate.exe was also gone.

Hope this information helps, I'm not even sure if this is a keylogger anymore.

Hallo @hans-joerg.walter

Kannst Du uns es genauer schildern, daß wir hier gezielt helfen können?
