Everything was fine, running Norton 360 version 4, all updates in place on Windows Vista Ultimate, quad core CPU with 2gb ram. Wife and I wanted to monitor/restrict children's internet access so being a Symantec fan, tried out Norton Online Family and downloaded and installed it today (21June2010).
Easy installation, linked the 'Norton user accounts' to the Windows user accounts, rebooted after software installation and configuration.
Now, when I log on as my son (restricted account as 14yr old), I cannot get to any web site. You name it, all sites blocked. Tried Internet Explorer 8, Firefox
I know it is not a system error (I am on same computer now). There is no other AV, anti-spyware or other parental control software present (reviewed add/remove programs to double-check). I can open a command prompt and ping ping.symantec.com - so DNS is working, internet is working.
I tried disabling Norton Safety Monitor, no change.
I updated House Rules, no change.
Frustrating part is no error, just timeout trying to reach site. Rebooted several times, no luck.
Thoughts?
