Laptop is fine when I'm using it. But when it goes to sleep, it takes a minute or two to wake up. Also, it has been auto-rebooting overnight. These actions just started happening the past few weeks. I just installed Windows 11 to see if that would help, but it didn't.
Update: the slow awakening-from-sleep issue is still ongoing. It's now only happening about once or twice per day. The computer is 'frozen' as it takes about a minute to wake up. Once it 'wakes up', response time is fine. I'm wondering if this is some type of virus?
Also still notice the auto rebooting, maybe once every couple of days.
Hi, I disabled the Fast Startup as you suggested. It did seem to affect the problem a little. The 'wake up' this morning experienced no delay as I've had been experiencing. However, once during the day, it took about 1 minute for the laptop to wake up after going to sleep. I tried rebooting and shutting down and restarting a couple of times. I'm still monitoring, and will update again in a day or two.
Have you checked your startup items to see if there is anything you do not recognise? Open Task Manager and click on the Startup tab.
There could also be some Windows garbage collecting that needs a full system restart. Are these overnight reboots happening every night?
You might also want to disable Windows Fast Startup feature. If you use Windows 8/8.1, 10 or 11, there can be an issue with the Windows Fast Startup feature.. See more information here.
