Just wondering if anyone has had difficulty accessing Thunderbird Email since the last Norton 360 update ? I am getting the message ‘Connection to Server Reset’ and cannot download or send messages. One Source reckons it is something to do with the Norton update as the issue started immediately after download. (Having said that, there was also a recent Thunderbird update around the same time).
Source indicated that Norton would require to update the program for the specific New Thunderbird Version 128.4.2esr (x64)
Product & version number: Norton 360 Premium
OS details: Windows 11 Home
What is the error message you are seeing?
‘Connection to Server Reset’ on Thunderbird EMail Client
If you have any supporting screenshots, please add them:
I too had issues with Thunderbird after the Norton update. I was getting certificate errors. There was a button to add a permanent exclusion for that email account.
If that does not help, from the main 360 screen, click on Security > Advanced Security and then turn off Email Protection on the right side. Then test. You will still be protected by the other layers of security in the 360 app.

Bingo ! - Thanks a ton peterweb
The second option worked immediately, Cheers, C
p.s. How do I now put ‘Kudos’ - resolved ?
p.s. After I got back into Thunderbird, one of my Accounts is stating Connection Refused… how do I access the button to add permanent exclusion ?
Thanks Again
I did not think to take screenshots of how to add that exclusion.
What other details are given about why the connection is refused? It was a similar message that I was seeing about the certificate problem. The option to add the permanent exclusion was included in that dialog box.
Very strange - Now seems to have corrected itself ? !?
will watch it… otherwise, Thunderbird looks to be out of the picture - thanks again
