Anyone in the community had any issues regarding the recent suspected "hack" of the LastPass software password manager !
The occurrence has been mentioned on numerous sites including The Register and also here......http://www.itpro.co.uk/633265/lastpass-passwords-compromised-by-hack
I've been using Roboform for many years now...and it's served me well .I'vealways used strong password combinations , especially for master passwords that enable access to password listings within programs such as password managers !
It seems that the CEO of LastPass has been advising users of their software , to change their master password into something based on a "non Dictionary " based format !.
I've always used a mix of upper and lower case text ....along with random symbols , especially for "Master passwords etc;" There seems to be a bit of uncertainty as to wether this " hack" has really compromised the data held by LastPass servers though!
The advice to LastPass users to change their password details has been offered as a "just in case " strategy and is a pre emptive step ,in case the attack has gone " deeper " than initially suspected !
Anyone on the forum using LastPass ??...it seems some users have been "locked out" and are unable to access the site to change their master password !
I was thinking of giving LastPass a try on a "test machine " a couple of weeks ago....Think I'll hold off a while and see what happens !........
What with the recent Sony hack...and now this....It looks as if there has been a "step up " ... in activity by the "naughty boys"
