I just updated my Google Chrome to the latest version and after I restarted Google Chrome to finish the install as requested, a information box came up and stated that some of my exstentions have been disabled to increase the speed and performance of Google Chrome. The only exstention that was disabled was Norton Identity Protection. Why would they do that? Seems like that would be the one that would not be disabled. Any reason why they would do this?
I had the same thing happen to me just now. My Norton Toolbar disappeared too when I upgraded to Chrome 25. Even when I re-enabled Norton Confidential, it still wasn't there. Ran autofix in NIS 2012 and then it seemed to come back. I must say though, I do seem to be having a few problems with Identity Safe now - some pages no longer log in automatically like they used to and also a popup keeps coming up (on this page, as I type this) saying that Norton Confidential has become unresponsive and do I want to kill the page

Hi,
In Google chrome25, we need to enable Norton Identity protection extension through popup or through Tools-> Extension
I experienced exactly what @Krusty13 has mentioned. I chose to enable the Norton Identity Protection manually, and Chrome promptly mentions "Installed by a third party" against this particular extension, while I have other extensions like Adblock too installed which remained enabled even after updating to Chrome 25, the latest browser version.
However, I noticed that despite enabling Norton Identity Protection 2013.2.1.36 in Chrome, the safe URLs green icon no longer appears when I do google search (as it used to earlier). Wonder if I need to post this as a separate post / feedback for Norton folks to look into.
In Chrome 25, annotations are not displayed in Google search when we perform a search ,but in chrome 24 it works fine. Temporary workaround is, try a Google search after turn off the instant search.
I have checked again and Google Instant is not enabled in my Chrome 25 browser. I had noticed that NIS 2013 used to display the green OK annotation against safe URLs following a google search. For some reason, even after enabling the Norton Identity Protection extention in Chrome, and restarting the browser, the issue remains. Not that I surf 'unsafe' websites but it is reassuring to see the green OK symbol against safe sites listed in a google search. Hope you & your colleagues at Norton can look into this and resolve it soon. Thanks.
