Issue abstract: Constant red X/issues about features being disabled.
Detailed description: On previous versions of norton 360 you were able to click on alerts and select ignore when it was complaining about smart firewall and safecam being turned off. That way that annoying red X on norton 360 and windows security notification tray icons weren’t present and didnt give false impressions there was an issue.
On the latest updates, it now goes in the middle of the homepage saying “Core protections are off and your safety is at risk”
I know they’re off. I turned them off. With regards to safecam, I don’t have a webcam that needs to be safe. With regards to firewall, I have other things to cover that, I don’t need norton smart firewall which I find gets in the way more than it helps and uses more resources.
Please tell me there’s a way to dismiss/ignore these notifications. On a previous install/PC it carried over the ignore of the warnings that it’s disabled but on a new PC and install, it does not. It is really quite infuriating ![]()
Product & version number: Norton 360 25.11.10580 (build 25.11.10580.0)
OS details: Win 11 Pro 25H2
What is the error message you are seeing? See above
If you have any supporting screenshots, please add them:
Edit
If it’s just safecam disabled you can dismiss the notification. If it’s smart firewall I can’t find any way to dismiss that warning
Sigh, this is why I kept paying for Norton Antivirus on the old UI. It was seemingly fixed on the new UI with a way to get rid of the warnings but now it’s un-fixed.
