All of a sudden I can’t execute my applications from Visual Studio with the debugger. If I do it just tries to start then stops. I have turned off like every setting, nothing. The problem gets worst where at first, it will be fine, but if i change a line of code (that seems to be the issue) the problem occurs. For the record “first” seems to be right after a restart.
Note I can compile my code, start the exe itself and attach the debugger no problem. But simply using the “Start Debugging” option I have used for ages, nothing.
Even more, the Smart Firewall, I can’t change the Automatic Program Control setting. It’s stuck on Smart Mode from the Advanced page, and if I click the cog to change it there, I can, but the second I leave the page and go back in, the setting reverted.
Exceptions do nothing, disabling every security setting does nothing. The support just wants to connect to my PC, I told them no!
The homemade executable process was present before the latest update. I wrote a small program the other day in Delphi (163k) that reboots the machine (I use this for a button on my Stream Deck). The first time I ran it; I wondered if it had even worked… it was a good 5 to 8 seconds before it did as I intended. After that initial safety check, it instantly executed when run.
