Hi, I have a problem with a built in camera on 2 of my laptops now. Both Lenova Yoga C640 and C740. The C740 is brand new and set up today.
I have Norton 360 Deluxe. The moment I installed Norton on my second laptop, it blocked my inbulit camera. I thought it was an issue with my first laptop - but the same thing happened the moment I instaalled Norton on my second one today. Suddenly the inbilt camera is black. My Norton 360 deluxe DOES NOT have a Safe Cam option in the settings. I have no way of enablelling the camera to work. The helpdesk in India had sadly no clue why the camera is blocked or why my Deluxe version doesnt show the safe cam option. We tried deactivating Norton -still no luck. Camera remains blocked. Short of literally doing a factory reset and looking for another anti virus program - does anyone have any idea why Norton would block the webcam and NOT show the safe cam option in the setting menue??

Have you tried running Lenovo update to see if it offers any drivers?
What I also meanwhile learned online is that Norton seems to identify camera drivers as problematic and removes them - which explaims why deactivating and deinstalling Norton after the fact doesnt solve the issue. Will try to reinstall the drivers or reset the laptop to factory setting - but will be avoiding Norton anything on this. For my x1 all works fine, it is just the C640 and C740 that are the issue - will ccheck tomorrow which camera each is using and what drivers are involved. That is beside the “safe cam” issue that doesnt seem to have a solution

Not it does not. I have been with Norton Support in the line, they remotely logged into my computer. My version of deluxe does not have “safe cam”. Happy to upload a pic of the settings options.
Hello Bianca. Your version of Norton 360 DOES have the safecam feature as show in this article. Have you ran live updates manually until no more are offered in Norton?
