Licence Concerns

I have recently swapped from Kaspersky to NIS 2009 and so far am pleased that I did. One thing that does concern me though is that as I dual boot XP and Vista, I will, according to info. on this forum, have to use two of my three “user licences” to install NIS on both OS’s, even though they are on the same machine.

This is in direct contrast to Kaspersky, which only needs one user licence regardless of how many OS’s are installed on the same machine.

I do find Norton’s advertising misleading in that it states NIS is “for up to 3 household machines”, even the small print says 1 Year Protection: With this service, you receive the right to use this product...............on the specified number of PC’s (the underlining is mine).

If Norton does regard each individual OS on the same machine as a PC, requiring its’ own licence, perhaps this should be made clear. It is certainly a consideration when deciding whether or not to renew NIS when the time comes. Any comments welcome.

Thanks.
