New version of Norton Mobile Security released 4/25/14 no longer has "Scan" or "Run Live Update" available.

I think it does, but they may be in a different place, from where you might expect.
If you open the app you should get the new white screen with 6 topic boxes. If you then hit the menu button there should be a pop-up topped with "Scan".
The slightly more difficult one to find is Live Update. I suspect that it is expected to run on a regular basis when you have an Internet connection, and someone has assumed that normal users will not often need to use it manually. However it can be found by going to the same pop-up as is topped with "Scan" and selecting "Settings" . Then if you scroll to the bottom of "General Settings" you should find a yellow "Run LiveUpdate" button. After that has run you will probably find that the scan runs again.
