Live Update Error 8920,204

Hello Folks:

 

For sometime, using Norton 360 v5 I ave been getting error 8920,204 when doing live updates. This occurs with only certain portions of the update.



 

This only occurring on my netbook running XPSP3. My vista laptop is not reporting a problem. I have reinstalled Norton 360 to this version: 5.0.2.1.

 

 

 

Any suggestions are welcomed!

Hi,

 

if you use the English version, please try some manual update sessions. There's an update patch, with that you will get version 5.1.0.29.

Can you check if you get this update, do the LU errors happen again?

The new patch is being given out in a phased in manner still. At this time, you can only get it by downloading it . Please see the message above.

The update has resolved the problem, but I wonder why no one from tech support had answered my question.

Because these are user to user support forums although some of us -- gurus -- have been nominated by Norton to do support.

 

As you say you got the answer from one of us ....

 

You will also see Norton Staff here -- their names are in red --  and they are nearly all "production and quality control" staff who help out here as well. Which is great because they actually are involved in creating the programs and so know them more intimately that pretty well anyone could! They are here to help but also to learn direct from users .....
